Kayaking to Meares Island

Me and Hannah went to Meares Island by kayak yesterday, the weather wasn't great, but not too cold, no wind. So it was good.

We kayak about 2 hours to get there, we stoped a lot of place.

Then, we walked big tree trail. This is one of them, pretty big. It is about 1000 years old!

This is inside of that tree. It's empty. You can get in there!

salmons and prawns were arrived.

My house mate Jeff who owns a fish and chips is a fisher man.

This is funny, I never met fisher man before even in Japan.

But here in Tofino, I'm living in his house.

He has been to Alaska for salmon and prawn and shrimp fishing.

He is still there, but he needed some space in his fishing boat for catching some fish.

So he send over his fish to here.

This is that box he send here, how huge it is!!

And so many salmon!!!! Those guys are pink salmon.

Also as you can see next to salmon, they are prawns.

They are headless, and super icy.

Good stuff!!

virgin fall

Lara, Stacy, Sylvie, and me went to 'virgin fall' in Tofino yesterday after work. We took 1.5 hours drive from town to get there, just drive logging bumpy road heading to top.

It was beautifull, I wish we could camp there.

On the way to go top, we stoped every single view spots and took so many pictuers, and ate berrys a lot. We saw bear 'poo' but unfortunally, we couldn't see any bears.

It was really funny trip, in the begining, I lost my chocolate ber, I mean someone stole it! I think it was animal or bird, but it was king size and i just had one bite! dammit!!

I hit my head a couple time, we got bitten, and the end, we got flat tire!! oh no Lara's new car!

But we made it. Thanks for the awesome trip and driving Lara!!

Lone Cone Trail

The other day, we went to 'Lone Cone' for trekking.

It was hard, and so steep!

We have to get a boat first to go there about 10 mins from town, becouse this is a island.

Tofino where we are living, is beautiful place. so much nature here, rain forest, long beaches, tiny islands everywhere, many many animals (bear, raccoon, seal, sea lion, sea otter, and more!!).

But I've never seen bear yet unfortunally... I'm looking for it all the time, but they never show up. So if I won't be able to see them in this month, I'll do that tour names 'bear watching' so sad... here is canada, I should've seen them.

Well back to the trail.

This trail takes you to get the top about 2 and half hours.

Then this is view from top!! Beautiful isn't it?

Tofino is just in the middle in this photo, surf beach where we go is behind Tofino, maybe you can see a tiny white beach, there is.

Tofino has so many activities, like surfing, kayaking, walking, whale watching, bear watching, hot spring, fishing...

So if you'll be able to come soon, please let me know...

Oh, that sea as you can see in this photo, is 'Pacific Ocean'. So if you can swim to the other side, will be Japan!! haha
